2017 Pasta & Wine Event

Tortellini Minestrone
     Prepared by Oak Leaf Cafe

lb. bacon 
1 lb. Carrots, diced 
1 onion, diced 
2 cloves garlic, minced 
1 tsp. oregano 
9 cups chicken broth 
7 cups V-8 juice 
5 cups white kidney beans (drained and rinsed) 
1.5 lb. tortellini
1.5 lb. zucchini

Fry or bake bacon until crisp. Cook carrots and onion in bacon grease until softened (5-7 minutes).
Add crumbled bacon. Stir in minced garlic and oregano. Cook 2 min. 
Stir in broth, V-8 juice, and beans. Bring to a boil. 
Reduce and simmer about 10-15 minutes. 
Add tortellini. 
Cut zucchini in 1/2 chunks and boil for 5 minutes. Add to soup. 
Garnish with Parmesan and pesto if desired.

Serve with your favorite Fruit Yard Wine!!


2017 Red Red Wine Recipe

Vegetable Barley Soup
Recipe & Vittles provided by Oak Leaf Cafe

Brown:
  2 TBS. butter
  2 TBS. vegetable base powder
  1 large onion (chopped)
Add & Cook:
  15 cups water
  4 large carrots
  stalk of celery
  2.5 lbs diced potatoes
  1 can diced tomatoes
  2 tsp. soy sauce
  1 tsp. gr. Black pepper
  1 tsp. celery salt
  1 tsp. smoked paprika
  1 tsp. garlic salt
  tsp. ground allspice
  tsp. onion salt
Thoroughly cook until vegetables are soft.

Add:  2 cups barley

Cook for 20-30 minutes.

Serve with your favorite Fruit Yard RED WINE!


2017 Halftime Pairings Recipe

Chili
Recipe & Vittles provided by Oak Leaf Cafe

cup vegetable oil 
2 onions, chopped 
3 cloves garlic, minced 
2# ground beef 
1.5# Delmonico steak, cubed 
3 cups canned diced tomatoes in juice 
3 cups Coca Cola 
2 cups strong brewed coffee 
3 cups tomato paste 
4.5 cups beef broth 
1 cup packed brown sugar 
3 tablespoons chili powder 
1 TBS ground cumin 
2 TBS unsweetened cocoa powder 
2 tsp. salt 
1 can kidney beans 
 
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. 
Cook onions, garlic, ground beef and cubed steak in oil until the meat is well
browned and the onions are tender.
Mix in the diced tomatoes with juice, coke,  coffee, tomato paste and beef broth.
Season with 
brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, cocoa powder, and salt.  Stir in beans.
Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 1.5 hours or until thick.

October 2013 .. Welcome Autumn

Visit our tasting room and experience the flavors of the Fall.  We are featuring our Trellez Red, Trellez White and Native Infusea.  These wines are from our native grapes, Concord and Niagara.  You will find our Chardonnay wines that were aged in stainless on special for the month of October or until the inventory is exhausted.

July 2013 .. Welcome Summer

We are open 7 days a week now. We now offer Cheese Curds from Shtayburne Farms, a local creamery.  You will also find chilled bottles of wine available for enjoying on our front porch with your picnic lunch.  Stop by and see many of our new staff and say hello to our year 'round staff. 

Don't forget Grapehounds at the end of July. We love having them here and they love to visit with you.

March 2013 .. Spring is Near

The Fruit Yard Winery continues its winter hours through Memorial Day weekend, Friday and Saturday: 10 - 5 and Sunday: 11 - 5.  Our staff is ready to help you choose the wine that best fits your needs, whether it's casual hour or paired with a perfect menu.  Back in stock is the Trellez White, a very grapy semi-sweet Niagara.  You will also find Apple-Raz, very fruity, but light.

Riesling Passports begin on April 1st and are available at the check out counter.  Spring Wine and Cheese weekend is April 26 - 28 with tickets still available through the Seneca Lake Wine Trail website at http://wcfruit.eventbrite.com/#  

January 2013 .. A New Year

As our 2013 year begins, we find ourselves on a reduced schedule at the winery.  Our hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 - 5 and Sundays 11 -5.  We look forward to seeing all of our existing customers and welcome our new ones.  Pasta and Wine will be another great event at the Fruit Yard Winery with our chef making another delecatble dish for your enjoyment and paired perfectly with a couple of Fruit Yard Winery wines.

Don't forget the ever popular Bargain Bash weekend starting January 12 and going through January 21.  Another great selection of bargain wines will be available for your choosing.

Bargain Bash continues through January 16th with a great selection of wine on sale at amazingly low low prices.  Don't forget your $1.00 off coupon,  good for a single visit to the Fruit Yard Winery. 
 
Pasta and Wine Weekend begins this Friday, January 13th at 1:00 PM and continues through Sunday, January 15 at 5:00 PM.  This is a great time to get out and enjoy Seneca Lake wines paired with amazing pasta dishes.  Tickets are still available through Eventbrite until 1 PM on Wednesday, January 11th.  After that, tickets will be available at selected wineries.
